Callout to Criffel

Thu, 2nd Jun 2022

At 1530 on 2 June 2022 Police Scotland asked for the assistance of Moffat Mountain Rescue to help a female walker with a suspected broken ankle on Criffel. 10 team members including the team’s Land Rover and Volkswagen vehicles responded.

The lady on holiday in the area had fallen just off the summit of Criffel, and with the assistance of other walkers she was able to make her way onto a forestry track where the team’s Land Rover was able to pick her up and bring her back to the car park.

The team was stood down at 1730 and the vehicles returned to base.

Moffat Mountain Rescue Team has its annual Charity Challenge walk on Sunday 12 June 2022 in the Moffat Hills. Walkers can choose one of four walks to suit all abilities and the team is on hand to help.
