Callout to Warb Law, Langholm for injured walker

Wed, 24th Jun 2026

At 15:13 on Tuesday 23rd June Moffat Mountain Rescue Team were asked by Police Scotland to assist in the rescue of a walker who had fallen and sustained a knee injury near Langholm.

11 members of MMRT responded to the callout. Together the team were able to provide a hasty response to the casualty, assess their injuries and provide appropriate pain relief.
Fortunately there was an off road track nearby we were able to use to access the location therefore the casualty was packaged in a stretcher and loaded into our VW ambulance.

On discussion with the Scottish Ambulance Service it was deemed the best option for the casualty was to transport them directly to hospital in our team vehicle therefore the team were able to convey them directly to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary’s Emergency Department, handing over to the staff there.

We wish them all the best in their recovery.
