MMRT recognise huge fundraising efforts at Criffel Ardwall car park

Sat, 16th Aug 2025

On Sunday 6th July 2025 members of Moffat Mountain Rescue Team travelled to Criffel near New Abbey to recognise the fantastic work of local residents Liz and Stewart Robertson and William and Jan Purdie, the owners of Ardwall Farm.

Liz and Stewart worked with the Purdies to set up and maintain a collection box in the main Criffel car park with the proceeds going to Moffat MRT. Thanks to their work they have raised an incredible £20,000 since it was installed in 2021. This money is equivalent to the cost of replacing all of our technical kit and will go a long way to ensuring we are able to replace and maintain our kit to standards that allow us to provide mountain rescue services safely in our area.

We are beyond grateful for their continued work and wanted to recognise this in person.

Thank you!
