Callout to injured walker near Culter Fell
Sun, 9th Nov 2025At 14:45 on Saturday 8th November 2025 Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service asked Moffat MRT to assist with the rescue of a walker near Culter Fell.
The walker was part of a walking group and had slipped and suffered a suspected broken ankle.
Eight members of Moffat MRT, 8 members of Police Scotland MRT (West) and an a SAS crew responded to the callout.
The MRT teams deployed a hasty team to the casualty’s location, taking equipment to make them more comfortable and assess their injuries as well as provide pain relief.
As more mountain rescue members arrived MMRT team’s stretcher and wheel were deployed to the scene. The casualty’s leg was splinted and they were then transferred to the stretcher and carried from the hill with the aid of a back-rope. They were then transferred to the care of the SAS crew for further assessment and conveyed to hospital.
We wish the casualty a swift recovery.
